I’ve been making money, building businesses, and enjoying success online for over a decade. I’ve seen a lot of businesses and people come and go in that time. One thing that has always remained constant is the fact that online marketing is not a magic wand. If you build it, they will not come. The equation to online business success is much more complicated and dynamic than that… as all business success is. I’m amazed at how many people believe the Internet is a magic pill that solves all your marketing and business woes, when in the end, it can complicate them more often than not.
With that said, here’s what I believe… digital marketing should be integrated, strategic, and consistent for it to be results driven. You can not simply build a website, apply random marketing tactics promoted by so-called gurus and expect to get anywhere. You need to have a plan, you need to execute that plan, and you need implement ways to measure your success and failures — so that you can work smarter, not harder. Period. The Internet is far too dynamic and ever-changing for you to succeed in any other way.
There is no other way to succeed online. It’s simple:
- Create a purposeful, strategic plan,
- systemize and execute that plan,
- monitor your success and failures,
- and grow.
“Always remember, there is an opportunity cost in everything you do… when you go one way, you give up the opportunity of going another, possibly better way.”
